Rebecca Rapoport-Cole is an award-winning Singer, Actor and Artist Development Coach based in New York City. 

Performance Career: Theater, Opera, On-Camera

Rebecca knows what it takes to have a successful, professional performance career. With credits ranging from Operatic stages in Europe to acting alongside Academy Award Winners in New York City, you can be sure that you’re learning from an experienced and passionate professional.

 

As an active performer, Rebecca has multiple Off-Broadway credits (including Tony-Award nominee Dave Malloy and Jason Craig’s Beardo, with the Pipeline Theater Company) and originating the role of Lisbeth in Entech: A Digital Musical, which was a semifinalist in the New York New Works Theater Festival, at the Times Square Arts Center. 

 

Rebecca has performed across the USA, Canada, and Europe as an opera singer, with performances at The Banff Center for the Arts, Peabody Essex Museum (With Metropolitan Opera conductor and Composer Matthew Aucoin) Dell’Arte Opera in New York, and Opera Odyssey Boston. 

 

Award highlights for Rebecca’s vocal work include Semi-Finalist, The American Prize in Voice (Twice!), Semi-Finalist, Piccolo Opera and honorable mention in the Barry Alexander International Vocal Competition. 

 

On film, Rebecca has numerous film and commercial credits, including starring alongside Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts (HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones, Run Away Train) in Andronicus with Kinematics Film, and My Dad and Bob Todd with Grey Machine Films, which was awarded official selection at over 20 film festivals in the USA.

 

For her work in My Dad and Bob Todd, Rebecca was awarded Best Actress at the No-Hu International Film Festival. She also has three Best Actress nominations under her belt (Grove Film Festival, Hang Onto Your Shorts Film Festival and Brightside Tavern Film Festival).

Coaching And Teaching Career

Rebecca has over 15 years of experience as a voice teacher and coach, with faculty appointments across the USA and Canada.

Trained in the Co-Active method, widely regarded as the "gold standard" in coaching, Rebecca specializes in coaching artists on mindset, career development, and uncovering technical or mental blocks. Currently, she is a candidate at the Co-Active Institute, actively working towards earning her ICF (International Coach Federation) and Co-Active certifications. With her extensive training and dedication to professional growth, Rebecca is committed to empowering artists to achieve their full potential.

Her students regularly audition for Broadway, theater, and on-camera productions and have been featured at New York City’s New World Stages, Alpha NYC, Don’t Tell Mama Cabaret, and more. 

 

She is also a seasoned audition coach and vocal recording producer. She works with performers on their audition material, vocal and audition techniques, coping with performance anxiety, and all elements of studio recording from pre-recording preparation to working with an artist in-studio, always ensuring their best work gets done. 

 

Rebecca’s notable voice faculty positions include NEMPAC - North End Music and Performing Arts Center, The Mosesian Center for the Arts and her private Studio, Studio GRC, which operates virtually and in-person at her studios New York City . 

Education and Training

Rebecca has a Master's Degree in Opera from Bard College, Longy School of Music. Before obtaining her Master's, she graduated with honors from the University of Western Ontario. She has spent more than ten years studying Voice, Piano, and Music Theory at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.

 

As Rebecca’s clients will tell you, Rebecca views ongoing training as a fundamental part of her career as a professional performer and vocal coach. Always learning and engaging with new ideas allows Rebecca to offer a uniquely personalized approach to her students.

Rebecca has always been dedicated to creating opportunities for artists within the entertainment community. Rebecca is the Co-Founder of the NEMPAC Opera Project and served as the company's Artistic Director for 5 years.

 

The NEMPAC Opera Project just celebrated its 10th year and continues to be an essential part of the Boston Music scene. www.nempacboston.org 

 

In addition to casting in Opera, Rebecca worked in Casting at NEMPAC and has auditioned and hired hundreds of artists for various professional performances in Boston ranging from Jazz to Musical Theater, Classical and Pop. 

 

Rebecca’s work as a successful professional artist and Casting Director allows her to bring her expertise to her clients when working on their audition skills and techniques, ensuring they are prepared to ENJOY their audition performances and feel confident in their work. 

Artistic Development And Mentorship

​In addition to her extensive 15 years of experience in vocal teaching, Rebecca serves as a dedicated mindset coach for performers. She excels in helping artists overcome mental barriers and develop personalized strategies to achieve their creative goals.

Rebecca is trained and practice the Co-Active coaching modality (widely considered the gold-standard coaching practice) and is pursuing her ICF PCC certification.

Through specialized Artistic Development Coachings, Rebecca passionately supports artists at every career stage, addressing topics ranging from setting career goals to navigating mindset challenges.

Nonprofit and Volunteer Work 

As a firm believer in giving back, community, and creating opportunities for artists, Rebecca worked at the North End Music and Performing Arts Center, a nonprofit organization in Boston, for over 6 years. During her time at NEMPAC, Rebecca founded the NEMPAC Opera Project. She planned and executed various fundraising and concert series and events and was the Director of the Education Department, serving over 300 students and families in the Boston Community. 

 

Rebecca also works with Creating for Justice, a growing network of activists/professionals who offer artistic and professional services in exchange for donations. 100% of these donations are sent to the volunteer’s chosen organization that aligns with CFJ’s mission.
